Cath Sheldrick (née Adrian)

Cath grew up with a close connection to land and place. Her family have stewarded this croft since 1911; Cath took over the tenancy in 2007 with a goal to provide nutritious food for herself and family, whilst farming in harmony with nature. She has been practicing permaculture for over 20 years; has a pdc from Geoff Lawton; teacher training certificate accredited by the permaculture Association of Great Britain and has a wealth of experience delivering training to various groups in diverse contexts, from in person courses on the wet West Coast of Scotland, helping women smallholders in dry land areas of Sindh, Pakistan; Mediterranean climate urban permaculture in a refugee camp and personal mentoring .
Today, my work centres on:
teaching permaculture thinking
writing and courses
mentoring others to design their own solutions
applying permaculture principles in social and international contexts
Living lightly, for me, is not about perfection.
It’s about attention, responsibility and care — for land, people and future generations.
